'Sentinel-2 preparatory symposium', Frascati, Italy
The Sentinel-2 satellites are planned to deliver high-resolution optical images. Mission orbits at a mean altitude of approximately 800 km and, with the pair of satellites in operation, has a revisit time of five days at the equator (under cloud-free conditions) and 2-3 days at mid-latitudes. The increased swath width along with the short revisit time allows rapid changes to be monitored, such as vegetation during the growing season. The first satellite is planned to launch in 2013.
The symposium will bring together European Space Agency Principal Investigators, co-investigators, Sentinel-2 users, scientists, students, representatives from national, European and international space agencies and stakeholders from industry. For further information, please visit: http://www.s2symposium.org/(opens in new window)
