18th International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia, Milan, Italy
As the information society has matured, virtual systems and multimedia are increasingly sophisticated and reaching more users. Three-dimensional (3D) technology, for example, now ranges from stereoscopic television to devices for videogames, gesture controls for tablet computers and augmented reality on smartphones. This uptake is being aided by progressive increases in broadband digital infrastructure.
Content for three-dimensional technology is increasingly diverse. In the area of cultural heritage, 3D applications are almost a requirement. Three-dimensional content generation is also becoming more widely used in medicine, the arts, film and games.
The event programme will centre on four main tracks. Two will focus on technological developments (3D content development, visualisation and interaction); the other two will be devoted to application-oriented research (cultural heritage, art and society). For further information, please visit: http://www.vsmm2012.org(opens in new window)
