'Bioeconomy in action', Copenhagen, Denmark
The European bioeconomy employs more than 22 million people and is a significant force for innovation and growth. While Europe is a leader in various fields of biosciences and technologies, competition is unceasing. Investment in research and innovation and better collaboration between European governments, universities, and enterprises are needed to maintain the European leadership.
The conference will discuss the European Commission's bioeconomy strategy, first drafted earlier this year in the context of the Common Strategic Framework Horizon 2020. The aim of the strategy is to create a more favourable environment and coherent policy framework in Europe.
The conference will gather stakeholders (researchers, policy makers, NGOs, and environmentalists) working in the field to discuss future initiatives and a long-term strategy within the framework of Horizon 2020.
The event will take place under the aegis of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. For further information, please visit: http://bioeconomy.dk/(opens in new window)
