19th International Workshop on Personalisation and Recommendation on the Web and Beyond, Konstanz, Germany
Personalisation has become a core feature on the internet: search engines provide personalised search results, retailers recommends books and other products, and social networks suggest friends and groups. Personalised features and recommendations often include items that were appreciated by similar users, based on a user's profile data, the user's current location or cookies.
While this can provide a benefit to internet users, it can also be problematic. Outside of privacy considerations, systems may draw wrong conclusions about search actions and even annoy users with personalised menus that do not work or recommendations for products that are not wanted.
The event will be an opportunity to discuss the latest in personalisation and user modeling through a programme which features plenary sessions, forums, and tutorials. For further information, please visit: http://abis.l3s.de/abis-2012-workshop
