An event entitled 'Images and visualisation: imaging technology, truth and trust' will take place from 17 to 21 September 2012 in Norrköping, Sweden.

Both Leonardo da Vinci and John Constable claimed that painting is a science, an argument that has been extensively debated in traditional aesthetics and art history. Given recent advances in science and visual engineering, the connection between both worlds is more important than ever. Creating images for science, of science and for the translation (interpretation) of science is now commonplace.

The aim of this conference is to bring together experts on natural and social sciences with curators, artists, producers and users of images based on advanced visual engineering. Together, they will discuss the challenges of advanced visualisation technologies and promote interaction and collaboration between arts, humanities and sciences. For further information, please visit: http://www.esf.org/index.php?id=9115
