An event entitled 'Electronics goes green 2012' will take place from 9 to 12 September 2012 in Berlin, Germany.

Concerns over limited natural resources, pollution, clean water and air quality have become global. In this context, environmental regulations enacted in Europe are changing the way products are designed, manufactured, used, and disposed of. This applies to the likes of the automotive and packaging industry, but nowhere is it more acute than in electronics, where design cycles and product lifespan are very short. Electronic component producers need to understand the current and potential impact of these regulations and in many ways have had to adapt to them.

The electronics sector will increasingly depend on the industry's ability to innovate. For that, a close collaboration between universities, research institutes, industry and funding bodies is of utmost importance.

The event will highlight new approaches in green IT, life-cycle engineering, new technologies, legislation and regulation, corporate social responsibility, management of critical resources and sustainability. For further information, please visit: http://www.egg2012.de/
