Cell Polarity refers to spatial differences in the shape, structure, and function of cells. Almost all cell types exhibit some sort of polarity, which enables them to carry out specialized functions. Dysregulation of cell polarity can cause development disorders and cancer. Although it is widely known that many cells are polarized, the mechanism by which this polarity is manifested is not very well understood.
