Geodata for all in Europe
In the context of the recent development of new applications for agriculture, transport, the environment, geo-marketing and the prospect of the information society and information highways, geographical information growth is limited at present and constrained by technical, legal and practical differences in the various policies and practices of the Member States.
The aim of the EUROGI debate is therefore to identify the opinions and suggestions of some of the leading European geographical information players and to stimulate the debate on what a European geographical information policy should be. In particular, the event aims to identify the major constraints to European market development, their importance and thus prioritize the actions necessary for their removal.
Participants will include representatives of data users, vendors, and producers, as well as members of the European Commission.
