Seven TIDE parallel bridge phase workshops

The European Commission, DG XIII, is organizing seven parallel bridge phase workshops in the framework of the TIDE (Technology Initiative for People with Disabilities and Elderly People) programme.

The workshops will be held on 7 July 1995 in Brussels at the LADA Building, 53 rue Maurice Charlent, 1160 Brussels.

The aim of the workshops is to bring together users, companies, and university and research experts in order to increase contacts and find future partners. The workshops will clarify issues, consolidate ideas and update the state of the art of each topic. In addition, a discussion on user requirements, ethical implications and methods to incorporate them into projects will take place.

The seven workshops are as follows:

- Sound and speech process in assistive technology;
- User interface design for communication systems;
- Interfaces with the environment for elderly and disabled persons;
- Telecommunications services and integrated information systems;
- Autonomy in public places for the elderly and people with disabilities;
- Remote care;
- Cognitive disabilities and communication.
