Directorate-General XIII of the European Commission is holding a workshop on the "Impact of advanced communications technologies on the role of women in society". The workshop will take place in Brussels on 6 July 1995 and is being organized within the framework of the Advanced Communications Technologies and Services (ACTS) programme.

The workshop aims to stimulate interest and discussion on the issue of women in the information society and to investigate possible strategies for the future, notably in the fields of employment and education. This event reflects the Commission's concern over the low rate of increase in the number of women in key decision areas, in particular in new and expanding sectors associated with the development of the information society.
