The Second International Symposium on "The environmental impact of micro-electronics device fabrication" will be held in Itzehoe, Germany, on 22 September 1995. The aim of the symposium, organized by the Itzehoe innovation Centre and supported by the Information Technologies programme of the European Commission, is to discuss all issues related to the environmental impact of micro-electronics device fabrication.

Key experts from industry, academia and governmental institutions will present the latest developments in the areas of:

- Environment, health and safety issues of device manufacturing (including an update on abatement measures to protect the environment from hazardous gases and liquids used in device fabrication processes);
- Total environment management, best practice, environmental management and audit system and ISO 14000;
- Current environmental policy issues and regulations (both in Europe and worldwide);
- Recycling strategies of IC-Fabs.

The symposium will be complemented by invited poster presentations on current European RTD projects in the area of "Green Semiconductor" manufacturing.
