The Institute of European Trade and Technology (IETT) is organizing, in collaboration with the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), a one-day seminar on the Community's specific programme in the area of advanced communications technologies and services (ACTS) (1994-1998). The seminar, entitled the "ACTS Proposers' Forum", will be held in London, UK, on 13 October 1995.

The objective of the proposers' forum is to provide potential participants in the ACTS programme with information, support and advice. It will, notably, provide:

- Full details of the second call for proposals for the ACTS programme which was published on 15 September 1995;
- Expert advice on how to prepare successful proposals;
- An introduction to the ACTS programme for newcomers;
- Special focus on SME participation in ACTS.

It will also include a series of parallel workshops on specific areas covered by the call:

- Cellular television and interactive multimedia environments;
- Harmonized control and management in photonic networks;
- Satellite components for third generation mobile and broadband wireless systems;
- Service creation processes and experimental service development.

These are aimed at bringing together organizations with similar interests for a more focused discussion on specific objectives, types of projects envisaged by the call, issues of exploitation and socio-economic considerations. The workshops will be led by panels made up of DTI officials, subject specialists and experienced project coordinators.
