Online'95: Provisional conference programme
The event will include plenary sessions, satellite seminars, a parallel conference on electronic publishing, the "Online'95" exhibition and the presentation of a series of awards. Plenary sessions will include:
- The Internet: Empty vessel or pot of gold?;
- Information access, navigation and retrieval;
- Teleworking;
- Emerging markets;
- Constructivism;
- Consumer online services.
In addition to the main conference programme, certain special events will be held before and after the meeting. Registration for these events must be made separately. These will include the following seminars:
- An information survey in perspective: boolean/thesaurus to free text searching (4 December);
- Quality assurance of information products and services (presented by the European Commission, DG XIII, and including an outline of proposals for the new INFO2000 programme and a presentation on quality procedures for the CORDIS databases) (4 December);
- The World Wide Web and the knowledge enterprise (4 December);
- Emerging Internet technologies (4 December);
- Using the Internet to conduct market research (4 December);
- Value added services over the net: strategies for small organizations (4 December);
- Developing Windows 95 multimedia applications for floppy disc, CD-ROM or the microsoft network (8 December);
- Information resources on the Internet (8 December);
- Learning with games: new approaches to teaching the Internet (8 December);
- Electronic business research for today and tomorrow: an international perspective (8 December);
- What makes the best better: how to charge for information products and succeed (8 December).
The "Online'95" exhibition will cover four floors including a floor dedicated to the Internet called "Internet World International" and a new "Financial Information Zone" dedicated to financial services products.
