International collaboration to support global manufacturing in the process industries

A conference entitled "International collaboration to support global manufacturing in the process industries" will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 17 October 1995. The conference, which is sponsored by the European Commission, is aimed at technology managers and decision makers across the process industries.

The aims of the conference are to:

- Demonstrate the added value to be gained from international collaboration, using recent test case examples;
- Identify collaborative opportunities in within the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS);
- Show linkages between IMS, European Framework Programmes, SUSTECH and PRIMA.

SUSTECH is a European chemical industry programme initiated in 1994 and aimed at promoting collaborative research in sustainable technologies. PRIMA was launched in 1993 as a collaborative venture sponsored by the European Commission to enhance the effectiveness of information technology investments in the European process industries.
