A one-and-a-half-day open workshop entitled "Which standards should I use for Open Information Interchange and why?" will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 30-31 October 1995. The workshop is being organized jointly by the European Commission and the European Workshop for Open Systems (EWOS).

The Open Information Interchange (OII) initiative is part of the Community's Information Market Policy Actions programme (IMPACT) for the establishment of an internal information services market (1991-1995). - Exchange experiences of implementing and using these standards;
- Discuss the issues and problems in information interchange;
- Come to a decision on which standards should be used in their specific environment;
- Contribute to developing recommendations for future actions.

Specific topics to be covered include:

- Using standards for OII;
- Information interchange on the World Wide Web;
- OII and the future society;
