EUROTRAC Symposium on the "Transport and chemical transformation of pollutants in the troposphere"

The fourth EUROTRAC symposium will be held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, on 25-29 March 1996. The aim of the symposium, entitled "Transport and chemical transformation of pollutants in the troposphere", will be to present the results of the first phase of EUROTRAC (part of the EUREKA initiative) and to prepare participants for EUROTRAC-2.

Focus will be on poster presentations by principal investigators and other guests. There will also be invited presentations, giving overviews of the scientific achievements of the project as a whole and of the various sub-projects, as well as addresses by invited plenary speakers. Workshops and presentations will be held on new sub-projects proposed for EUROTRAC-2.

The principal sessions will include presentations on:

- Modelling on urban, regional and global scales;
- Photo-oxidants;
- Applications of scientific results in policy development;
- Biogenic and anthropogenic emissions;
- Deposition of pollutants in the biosphere;
- Laboratory studies and instrumentation;
- EUROTRAC-2 - proposals for sub-projects.
