IMPACT: Second information day

Following the success of the Knowledge Transfer Workshop (October 1990), the Information Market Policy Actions programme (IMPACT) has scheduled a second meeting for 6 November 1991, to be held at the European Commission, Luxembourg. Status reports will be given on two projects, Natural Language Access (NLA) and the MAX interactive voice system. A new project, MIM, will also be presented, demonstrating multilingual database interrogation, permitting full-text databases to be accessed in languages other than the original. It is expected that the results of three pilot and demonstration projects (TECDOC, Mediterranean Atlas and DISNET) will also be featured. Further papers will deal with the European Commission Host Organization (ECHO), now present on all operational European videotex systems, and its contribution to multilingual information distribution. The Information Day will highlight the active role played by the CEC in developing the European information services market, as well as illustrating ECHO's activities in promoting electronic information services through innovative experiments.ECHO
