The Scottish Centre for Nanotechnology is organizing its third annual conference on biomedicine and nanotechnology, to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, on 6 June 1996. The conference is being supported by the Technology Transfer Centre.

The theme of this year's conference will be "Advances in drug discovery techniques". The conference programme will include presentations on:

- Natural products for drug discovery;
- Plant cell culture: a vehicle for drug discovery;
- Marine product: potential for drug discovery;
- Drug discovery by using molecular biology to reprogramme micro-organisms;
- Turning drug disposition into drug development;
- Advances in glycopharmaceuticals;
- Combinatorial chemistry: a new technology for drug discovery;
- New methods for structure-based de novo drug design;
- Advanced screening technology and informatics for natural products drug discovery;
- Present and future applications in automation.
