The superhighway through the home - configuring and consolidating the vision

A conference on personal and domestic media, entitled "The superhighway through the home - configuring and consolidating the vision", will be held in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, on 3-5 September 1996.

The conference, which is being supported by the European Commission (DG III - Industry), will concentrate on interactive technology and, in particular, interactive television. The core question to be addressed by the conference is how the cultural and business success of conventional television can be linked to the possibilities of digital networks and information technology.

The conference organizers are interested in receiving submissions of papers, demonstrations, workshops and discussion topics. Submissions should be made, in five copies, to the Conference Secretary by 1 May 1996.
