A workshop entitled "Artificial Intelligence-based tools to help W3 users" is being organized within the framework of the fifth International World Wide Web (WWW) conference which will take place in Paris, France, on 6-10 May 1996.

The workshop, which will be held on 6 May 1996, will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods and tools suitable for use within the context of distributed information networks such as the World Wide Web. Methods and techniques to be covered by the workshop will include:

- Intelligent software agents;
- Knowledge representation;
- Knowledge acquisition;
- Ontologies;
- Case-based reasoning;
- Machine learning;
- Data mining;
- Linguistics tools;
- Information retrieval tools;
- Integration and cooperation between multiple AI tools.
