International workshop on "Metallothioneins"

An international workshop on "Metallothioneins" is being organized by the Joint Research Centre's Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM). It will take place in Geel, Belgium, from 30 to 31 October 1996.

The workshop will present a historical review of Metallothioneins (MT) and the latest knowledge in the field. In particular, the following issues will be examined:

- Analytical aspects of MT;
- MT and the environment;
- Nutritional and biochemical aspects.
