A Food Technology Brokerage Event will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 20 to 21 August 1996. It is organized in the framework of the EUREKA programme which aims to facilitate collaborative R&D projects between companies and research organizations across Europe.

The event will be held in conjunction with the NordFood Conference, "Future, culture and know-how", to take place from 18 to 20 August at the same location.

The brokerage event aims to enhance multinational cooperation in research and development within the European food industry. Partnerships between participants could lead to subsequent proposals for European research programmes.

The following themes will be covered:

- Quality;
- New and improved technology and food processing;
- Mechatronics and automation;
- Packaging and transport technology;
- Consumer aspects;
- New food products and functional properties;
- Information technology;
- Environmental aspects.

Participants will receive extensive help in partner search and project initiation within EUREKA, the EU Framework Programmes and national programmes.
