The Fifth International Conference on Computers Helping People with Special Needs, ICCHP'96, will be held in Linz, Austria, from 17 to 19 July 1996. It is organized in cooperation with the IEEE Computer Society, part of the ESPRIT Network of Excellence in distributed systems architecture.

The aim of the conference is to forge links between the areas of research and development in computer science, rehabilitation technology, medicine, architecture and social sciences. The conference will be complemented by a series of workshops and an exhibition, the "International computer camp".

The conference programme will include sessions dealing with the use of computers to ease visual, hearing, mental, mobility and speech impairment. In addition, the use of computers in medicine and alternative methods of information input will be discussed.
