BERM-7: Seventh International Symposium on Biological and Environmental Reference Materials

The Seventh International Symposium on Biological and Environmental Reference Materials, BERM-7, will take place in Antwerp, Belgium, from 21 to 25 April 1997. It is organized by the Joint Research Centre's Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM), in collaboration with AOAC International.

The theme of the symposium is "Measurement trends and reference materials for the year 2000". It aims to examine the production, study and use of reference materials in the analytical, biological, biomedical, clinical, environmental and nutritional communities. In particular, the following topics will be covered:

- Certified reference materials (CRMs) for the year 2000;
- The art of preparation of candidate CRMs;
- Reference materials in developing countries;
- Certified/working reference materials;
- Use of reference materials.
