A workshop on "Separative techniques and environment" will take place at POLLUTEC'96, the 12th international exhibition for environmental equipment technology and services, in Lyon, France, from 22 to 24 October 1996.

The workshop is organized by the National Council of Engineers and Scientists of France (CNISF), and sponsored by DG XII of the European Commission.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss developments in separative techniques for purification, fractionalization and recovery in the following sectors:

- Drinking water treatment;
- Municipal, food and agricultural industries waste water;
- Industrial waste-water treatment;
- Air treatment;
- Waste treatment.

A number of sessions during the workshop will outline the activities of the Community's research programmes in this area, including BRITE/EURAM, the specific RTD programme in the field of industrial materials and technologies.
