In the framework of the Community's EUROPARTENARIAT programme, a partnering event entitled "EUROPARTENARIAT Italia 1996" will be held in Genoa, Italy, from 27 to 29 November 1996.

EUROPARTENARIAT was launched by DG XVI and DG XXIII of the European Commission in 1987 as a forum for the development of economic ties between small and medium-sized enterprises in the European Union, Central and Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean region. It is designed to stimulate the development of less-favoured regions by encouraging SMEs to establish business relationships with their counterparts in these regions.

SMEs are therefore invited twice a year to attend a partnering event, EUROPARTENARIAT, during which they have the opportunity to meet potential business partners.

At "EUROPARTENARIAT Italia", approximately 400 SMEs from 11 Objective 2 regions (regions hit by industrial decline) in northern and central Italy will have the opportunity to meet enterprises from more than 60 countries interested in technical, financial or commercial cooperation.

A catalogue containing company profiles of the Italian companies participating in the event, including information on the type of cooperation desired, is now available.
