A Euromediterranean workshop on "Coastal zones management" will take place in Alexandria, Egypt, from 10 to 14 November 1996. It is organized by the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of Sea (IFREMER), on an initiative of DG XII of the European Commission.
The workshop, involving the 15 EU Member States and the 12 Mediterranean countries, aims to facilitate dialogue between senior planners and scientists in European and Mediterranean countries on the future direction of actions under the Euromediterranean partnership policy.
The participants will aim to define a framework of research priorities and to prepare a short, medium and long term implementation plan and a specific policy agenda on the subject.
