Environmental impact of biomass for energy

A conference on the "Environmental impact of biomass for energy" will be held in Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands, from 4 to 5 November 1996. It is organized by the Netherlands Centre for Agriculture and Environment (CLM).
The conference is organized as the conclusion of a concerted action on "Environmental aspects of biomass production and routes for European energy supply", funded by the AIR programme in the field of agriculture and agro-industry of the Third RTD Framework Programme (1990-1994).
The aim is to present and discuss the state of the art in environmental evaluation of biomass production and use, with the emphasis on the environmental impact of energy crop production. It will focus on experiences of the evaluation of environmental impact in the EU, with all crops which are considered for conversion to energy under discussion.
