Irish workshops on innovation and R&D management
The workshops, which are organized by Forbairt, Ireland, aim to help SMEs develop competence in product and process innovation. The workshops will be run over a period of five weeks with one one-day workshop per week. The sessions will include lectures, case studies, assignments and discussions.
Topics to be covered will include:
- The innovation process;
- Business and technology strategies;
- Researching new business opportunities;
- The role of creativity in the R&D process;
- Management of the R&D function;
- Cost estimating for new product/process development;
- Product/process definition and specification;
- Computer technology in the design and planning process;
- Managing intellectual assets;
- Management of uncertainty in technical development;
- Legal and regulatory issues in R&D;
- New product commercialization and launch;
- Making an R&D grant application.
The scheduled dates for these workshops (first workshop in the series of five) are as follows:
- Cork: 17 September 1996;
- Dublin: 29 October 1996;
- Galway: 14 January 1997;
- Waterford: 25 February 1997;
- Limerick: 8 April 1997;
- Dublin: 19 May 1997.
