The Third International Conference on Information Technologies in Occupational Safety and Health Information, Training and Education will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 13-15 November 1996. The conference is being organized by the Belgian "Association Nationale pour la Prevention des accidents du Travail" (ANPAT), with support from the European Commission (DG V), the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, The international Social Security Association and the International Labour Organization.

The conference programme will focus on new developments in information technologies, such as networking and multimedia applications, and the opportunities these technologies present for information providers, end users and education and training experts.

An important outcome of the conference will be to produce recommendations and guidelines directed at the relevant parties involved. To this end, the programme will include a number of workshops in which participants will be invited to contribute actively to the drafting of recommendations and priorities. New technology applications will also be demonstrated during the workshops in order to update the information presented at the two previous conferences held in Luxembourg (1989) and Sheffield (1992).
