The third European AMI (Application of Metrics in Industry) User Group workshop will be held in Brighton, United Kingdom, on 6 December 1996. The workshop will complement the Software Process (SP'96) conference and exhibition, to be held in Brighton from 2 to 5 December 1996.

The AMI User Group promotes the use of, and allows users to exchange information about, the application of software measurement techniques in the pursuit of business goals. The AMI approach was developed by a project funded by the European Community's ESPRIT specific RTD programme between 1990 and 1992.

The workshop will cover topics such as:

- Process improvement - cause of culture change;
- AMI in specific applications: software design, energy management;
- Object-oriented metrics;
- Implementing metrics in an outsourcing partnership;
- Applying AMI in various situations relating to organization size, type of work, etc.
