The EVA'96 conference on Electronic Imaging and the Visual Arts (also including exhibition, tutorials and "special interest group" workshops) is a major European event in the visual arts sector. Supported by the Community's specific RTD programme in the area of information technologies (ESPRIT), EVA has been organized by the ESPRIT VASARI project as a series of events taking place at different venues across Europe. Following the EVA'96 Berlin conference (13-15 November 1996), EVA'96 Paris will take place on 4-6 December 1996.

The main aim of this conference is to provide a cross-sectoral forum for the user, supplier and scientific communities to meet and exchange experience, ideas and plans. Participants will receive up-to-date information on both European and international initiatives in the visual arts, computing and telecommunications sectors.

The event will draw together key people interested in sensitive, cost-effective use of new imaging technologies in applications across a variety of sectors, including: the cultural sector; the technology supply industry; media and related sectors; imaging systems and telecommunications researchers; the government sector.
