Forbairt, the Irish state development agency, is organizing a workshop for training in value analysis, to be held in Dublin, Ireland, from 27 to 29 January 1997. The workshop leads to a certificate developed by VDI, the German Engineers Association. Both Forbairt and the VDI host Community Innovation Relay Centres.

Value analysis is a professionally applied, function-oriented, systematic team approach used to analyse and improve value in a product or process (manufacturing, management and administration). It is a powerful tool for solving issues and/or reducing costs while improving performance and satisfying quality requirements.

The aim of the course is to give those involved in manufacturing or services companies the opportunity to acquire a basic introduction and certified training in value analysis methodology. The course will include both theory and practice, with participants working in teams on live projects.
