Hannover Messe '97

The world famous Hannover Messe '97, the world's largest industrial technology trade fair, will take place in Hannover, Germany, from 14 to 19 April 1997. The unique concept of the Hannover Fair, bringing together leading trade fairs in a range of industrial sectors, makes this a major event for industry and business.

The 1997 Hannover Fair is expected to bring together approximately 7,000 exhibitors from over 60 countries. The industrial sectors represented include:

- Automation technology;
- Power transmission and control;
- Subcontracting;
- Industrial materials;
- Research and technology;
- Factory equipment and tools;
- Compressed air technology;
- Production equipment for electrical engineering and electronics;
- Lighting technology (World Light Show);
- Rail transport technology.

This year's partner country is Great Britain, who played a decisive role in establishing the Hannover Fair in 1947. The decades of cooperation with Britain will be reflected in a special presentation by British industry.

CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, will be present at the Hannover Fair. Visitors to the event will be able to see demonstrations of different aspects of CORDIS, including, Watch-CORDIS, the CORDIS CD-ROM and the CORDIS World Wide Web server.
