An Information Day on sources of support for environmental research, at regional, national and EU level, will take place in Stuttgart, Germany, on 28 February 1997. The event is being organized by the Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (EU Innovation Relay Centre), in collaboration with the regional organizations, "Verband Region Stuttgart" and "Wirtschaftsf"rderungsgesellschaft Region Stuttgart".
The promotion of sustainable and environment-friendly development is one of the major goals of our society. Whether in the field of energy, waste, waste water or the control of air pollution, the development of environment-friendly technologies is urgently needed. The development and implementation of these new environment-friendly methods and techniques is, however, often very costly. For this reason, public bodies offer targeted support in this field through special support programmes.
Participants in the Information Day will be able to meet with leading figures in this area and make contacts with other participants with similar interests. At EU level, particular attention will be paid to the role of the LIFE financial instrument for the environment.
