A Telematics Engineering Workshop entitled "MEGATAQ - A structured approach to evaluating Telematics Applications", will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 26 May 1997. The workshop is being organized by the European Commission within the framework of the Community's specific research programme in the field of Telematics Applications.

The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with an opportunity to get acquainted with:

- The benefits of evaluating a telematics application;
- The scope of possible objectives involved in such an evaluation;
- The wide range of factors that are potentially relevant in planning an evaluation strategy;
- How to define the scope of an appropriate evaluation strategy;
- The range of available evaluation tools, techniques and sources of support in conducting an effective evaluation operation.

The workshop agenda will include a brief introduction to MEGATAQ (including the Usability Support Centres) and an introduction to general evaluation procedures, as well as models, checklists and an inventory of methods. A practical evaluation exercise will be organized and a MEGATAQ evaluation case study presented (User evaluation of the CoopWWW system).
