A one-day conference on "European strategies for multimedia education and training" will be held in Leeds, UK, on 10 September 1997. The conference, organized by Arthur Andersen and Pindar Plc, will examine the latest strategies and policies of the European Commission in the field of multimedia education and training.

European Community support for the design, distribution and delivery of education and training in multimedia is available through eleven programmes: ADAPT, ACTS, INFO 2000, ESPRIT, MLIS, LEONARDO DA VINCI, SOCRATES, TELEMATICS, Article 6 of the European Social Fund, TEN-TELECOM and MEDIA 2.

The priorities of each of these programmes will be examined within the context of the new Commission strategies to strengthen the supply side of the industry and encourage greater cooperation between providers and users of multimedia.
