Transport and chemical transformation of pollutants in the troposphere
23 March 1998 - 23 March 1998
Germany
The fifth EUROTRAC symposium on "Transport and chemical transformation of pollutants in the troposphere" will be held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, from 23 to 27 March 1998. The symposium is held within the framework of the EUREKA project, EUROTRAC, which aims to study transport and the transformation of environmentally relevant trace constituents in the atmosphere over Europe.
The aim of the symposium is to present the scientific programme for the second phase of EUROTRAC, which runs from 1996 to the end of 2002. In addition, it will also report further results from the first phase and from other work in progress. The following sessions are planned:
- Photo-oxidants;
- Chemical mechanisms;
- Aerosols and clouds;
- Links between policy development and science;
- Emissions (biogenic and anthropogenic) and deposition;
- Acidification, mercury, POPs and coastal processes;
- Modelling on regional, global and urban scales;
- Regional and urban problems.
Participants are invited to submit posters for presentation during the symposium. The deadline for submission of posters is 12 January 1998.
