Interworking'98, the Fourth International Symposium on Interworking, will take place in Ottawa, Canada, from 7 to 10 July 1998.

The theme of the symposium will be "Interoperability in networks for interoperable services". The aim of the event is to provide a platform for exchanging views on heterogeneous communications issues, including: concepts, evolution, services, equipment and user requirements. It will, in particular, highlight the importance of interoperability between equipment, protocols, signalling and network management for the provision of end-to-end services at an international level.

The symposium programme will include a mixture of speeches, application demonstrations, poster sessions and distributed panel sessions. Particular emphasis will be given to interaction between authors and audience.
