Third IRC Network Meeting

The third IRC Network Meeting will take place in Stuttgart, Germany, on 23 and 24 April 1998. The first session (morning of 23 April) will be open to the public and will focus on the development of EU research, in particular the Fifth Framework Programme. Thereafter the meeting is restricted to representatives of Innovation Relay Centres.
The public session will be run by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, the local IRC, and will be targeted at SMEs in particular. It will provide the latest information on the Community's Fifth RTD Framework Programme, with particular attention given to the horizontal programme "Innovation and SMEs". The morning session will conclude with a brief overview of the work of the first phase (1995-1997) of the IRC network
The remainder of the meeting, open to IRCs only, provides the opportunity for the different members of the network to meet and exchange ideas and information. Topics to be discussed include the IRC thematic groups, Web tools, promotion of IRC success stories, IRC performance indicators and the work of the FEMIRCs (Fellow Members to the IRC network in the Central European countries).
CORDIS, the Community R&D Information Service, will be present throughout the event, demonstrating the various CORDIS services and answering questions. In addition, the South German IRC is organizing a technology brokerage event in the multimedia field, during the weekend following the meeting.
