An ESPRIT-COPERNICUS symposium on "Putting information and communications technology into practice" is due to be held in Wroclaw, Poland, from 23 to 24 April 1998. The symposium is jointly organized by the European Commission, DG III and the Wroclaw Centre for Technology Transfer.

The main themes to be covered by the conference are distributed enterprise, intelligent automation, and industrial benchmarking. The event aims to provide a forum for discussion between Eastern and Western Europe, with the emphasis on exchanging practical solutions. Information on cooperation possibilities within the forthcoming Fifth RTD Framework Programme will also be presented.
