An international fair on emerging markets will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 26 to 29 May 1999. The aim of the event will be to provide participants with the opportunity to meet numerous direct investors and business managers and to help find the best solutions for investment and development problems.

A series of conferences will be held throughout the event which will aim to supply direct investors with practical advice on different financing possibilities, assistance for project development and on evaluating political, economic and legal risks. Topics to be addressed will include:

- Towards a new approach to developing economies;
- Enlarging the number of investors;
- Risks and guarantees;
- SMEs and micro-investment;
- Privatisation;
- Companies using the euro and developing markets;
- Culture and investment.

In addition, four theme rooms will be open to participants for business information meetings in the following sectors: agriculture and fishing, industry, services and new technologies. An exhibition which will run in parallel with the conference will feature the following:

- Economic agents from emerging countries;
- Projects for enterprise creation and development;
- Firms on project management, consulting and research;
- Bilateral and multilateral investment;
- Promoters of investment funds.
