Healthy Planet Forum will run parallel to London 1999 conference
The World Health Organisation, along with other UN agencies, is supporting a non-governmental conference, "The Healthy Planet Forum", which will run in parallel to "London 1999", the largest conference seen yet in Europe on the environment and health.
The Healthy Planet Forum will be held in London between 15 and 18 June 1999.
It will be the first event of its kind, offering an opportunity for non-governmental organisations (NGOs), professionals, and voluntary organisations to discuss issues related to health and the environment. It will provide a forum for NGOs to discuss issues on the agenda of the forthcoming London 1999 ministerial conference, and to agree on common strategies.
It will also include:
- A public rally;
- A full exhibition area;
- A 'food summit';
- A programme of films, meetings, seminars and workshops, aimed at the public as well as professionals.
The event has received funding from the European Commission, Directorate General XI.
