MIDAS-NET discusses Green Paper on public sector information

Two events taking place in May will discuss the Green Paper on Public Sector Information in the Information Society. In Espoo, Finland, the MIDAS-NET Node is organising an event on 17 May 1999, and a further event is being organised in Paris on 19 May 1999.
The Green Paper aims to stimulate debate on how the large bodies of information held by government bodies throughout Europe can be opened up, using multimedia techniques, to provide real benefits for citizens and businesses.
These two events are the latest in a series organised throughout Europe by MIDAS-NET Nodes to increase awareness and stimulate discussions on the Green Paper. The initiative will culminate in a public hearing organised by the European Commission in Brussels on 25 May 1999.
