Best Practice in LED Street Lighting event in Teddington, UK

This one day event on 4 December 2012 will feature presentations from measurement experts, LED manufacturers, large users and small businesses. It will also highlight new insights from the 'Metrology for Solid State Lighting' project of the European Metrology Research Programme.

4 December 2012 - 4 December 2012
Austria
The benefits of solid state lighting (SSL) are encouraging the wider adoption of new lighting technology across the UK, and reaping rewards for suppliers and end users. Long lifetime, reduced maintenance, and lower energy consumption are just a few of the advantages, coupled with the ability to control the lighting and produce better quality illumination. With any emerging technology there are associated issues that need resolving, and with SSL street lighting these include glare, best practice, mesopic lighting, and standards and measurements. The adoption of best measurement practice enable manufacturers to support the claims (need to be clear) for their products and end users to understand the quality of the products they are specifying.

This one day event will feature presentations from measurement experts, LED manufacturers, large users and small businesses. This will also highlight new insights from the European Research Programme project 'Metrology for Solid State Lighting' (http://www.m4ssl.npl.co.uk/(opens in new window)). Specifiers and installers of SSL street lights will share their experiences and demonstrate how to realise environmental and financial benefits through best practices.

This event is designed for specifiers of street lighting such as local authorities, energy providers or facilities management companies, who wish to invest in SSL street lighting. It is also for innovative manufacturers of lighting technology who wish to develop high quality, energy efficient, cost-effective lighting products, that realise the benefits of SSL street lighting.
