Proposal writing workshops for IST and Growth programme participants

A series of courses to help participants prepare successful proposals for the User-friendly Information Society (IST) and Competitive and Sustainable Growth programmes within the EU's Fifth Framework Programme are being organised by IETT - Institute of European Trade and Technology. The two-day proposal writing courses in October and November are aimed in particular at organisations intending to apply under the forthcoming IST call, due to be published on 1 October 1999 and the Growth call expected on 15 December 1999.

The dates and locations are as follows:

For the IST programme:

18-19 October 1999, Amsterdam;
8-9 November, Paris.

For the Growth Programme:

11-12 October 1999, London;
15-16 October 1999, Amsterdam;
21-22 October 1999, Brussels;
4-5 November 1999, Paris.

The structure of the courses is flexible and proposers may attend one or both days. Participants are encouraged to bring short summaries of their proposals or project ideas for consultation with experts. The two-day courses will suit both newcomers and more experienced proposers. They are aimed at senior managers in industrial, academic and research organisations, including SMEs, who wish to improve their skills and their understanding of the IST programme. The workshops will take the form of lectures, round-table discussions, short group exercises, feedback sessions and one-to-one consultations. An informal dinner will be held in the evening of Day 1, giving the participants a further chance to network and share experiences.
