Energy and environment discussion day

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Fedarene, the European federation of regional energy and environment agencies, will be holding a seminar and round table.
The seminar will take place on 18 September from 1000 to 1600 and will focus on the 100'communities' project established by the European Commission, which can help solving energy management problems. The proposal of a directive on the promotion of electricity from renewable energy sources will also be discussed.
The round table, which takes place from 1700 to 1830, will be on the theme of: 'Energy and the environment: efficiency of European policies and citizen's behaviour - the role of the regional actors.'
A press conference will take place at 1630 which will include a number of high ranking officials, including Vice president of the European Commission and Commissioner for energy and transport, Loyola de Palacio, Commissioner of regional policy, Michel Barnier and Olivier Deleuze, Belgian federal minister of energy and sustainable development.
