Researchers and building constructors will discuss how to use renewable energy effectively and innovatively, namely in solar energy buildings, on 15 and 16 November in Brno, Czech Republic. The event is being organised under the umbrella of the European Commission's OPET (Organisations for the promotion of energy technologies), the IRCs (Innovation relay centres) and SeSME (Sectoral specific SME economic intelligence stimulation).

The conference will also serve as a stage for discussion of the EU's Fifth and Sixth research Framework programmes and for the promotion of new energy conservation and environment sustainable technologies in the building sector and related fields.

The results from demonstration projects and monitored buildings will be presented in the plenary session, raising issues such as passive and hybrid solar low energy systems in buildings, natural ventilation and cooling strategies and solar interactive envelopes with advanced glazing systems.

The conference will also deal with design methods for solar architecture, building simulation and design options, reliability and durability of building envelopes and opportunities for international collaboration.For further information, please consult the following web address:
