An international conference entitled 'Developing the information society in the regions: benchmarking indicators, leading projects and policy support' will take place on 22 and 23 June in Poznan, Poland.

The event will present the methodology and results of the information society project 'European Regions UNDER way towards STANDard indicators for benchmarking the Information Society' (UNDERSTAND). Co-funded within the INTERREG IIIc programme, the project aims to compare and evaluate the development of the information society in 12 EU regions from seven countries.

It will also be an occasion to study what is behind the indicators presenting the best practices that were identified during the benchmarking analysis.

Organised under the patronage of Danuta Hübner, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy, the conference targets participants from regions and region networks; development agencies; research centres working on information society; local administration; national and European statistical offices, and officers working on information society and regional development. For more information, please click
