Workshop on new trends in emerging pathogens in Hohenheim, Germany
International speakers will address the latest developments in the fight against food-borne pathogens, including questions of sample preparation for rapid microbial analysis, application of molecular methods to detect pathogens in the dairy industry, new insights into cleaning, disinfection and microbiological sampling surfaces in food processing premises, and improving the design of processing equipment.
Food safety is a pan-European problem and its impact on trade and competitiveness is substantial. Despite significant investment, the incidence of food-derived diseases is still increasing in the EU. The PathogenCombat project, funded under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), takes a holistic, multidisciplinary approach towards threats from new/emerging pathogens in the entire food chain and is trying to improve effectiveness and uniformity in reducing pathogens in European food.For further information, please visit:
